About this artwork
I created Wait for Me as a vulnerable plea for companionship on the often-solitary journey of growth. While others have moved ahead—those I started with and even those who began after me—this work captures my deep wish for them to wait. In this composition, I used a vibrant, high-contrast palette of ochres and deep mahoganies to render the subject, highlighting her "inner glow" even in a moment of longing. The inclusion of a single green plant held close to her face serves as a symbol of growth that is still in progress, mirroring her own state of becoming. Wait for Me is an affirmation of the resilient spirit that is brave enough to admit its need for others
