About this artwork
Neo-Fira n°2 belongs to the new “PETITE” series, an intimate evolution of (s)CONFINI).
In these small-format works, the border is no longer just an external margin but multiplies on the inside, tracing tactile paths that invite the hand to explore.
The word Neo-Fira comes from the union of Neo (new, rebirth) and -Fira (thread, border, fiber): it means “new border”, a limit that does not separate but unites, a line that can be touched to perceive… what is invisible.
In this work, two bodies lean toward each other in a gesture of listening and mutual surrender. The cool and warm tones meet and merge, creating a living surface, traversed by raised lines that guide the sense of touch like emotional maps.
The dense and layered material conveys the idea of a union beyond the visible, of boundaries that become contact, of differences that merge into the same vital energy.
A tactile, multisensory and profoundly human work: to be seen, to be felt.

« Light, shadow and fire that burns, but that warms and illuminates the path, so we, hand in hand, run towards the stars. »
The works of the Italian artist Emmanuela Zavattaro, winner of the award, beautifully express the spectrum of life's emotions: pain, anger, happiness and loss fuel her passion. Emmanuela's works are investigations into the human soul, darkness and light, parallel paths that intertwine in each of us, the engine of life.
