About this artwork
In this work from the Bodies of Light series, I depict two figures emerging from the dark background like luminous presences suspended in space. Through color and paint, I attempt to make the bodies vibrate, transforming them into surfaces traversed by light.
The gesture of the figure behind the other suggests a silent transmission: a contact that for me speaks of energy, protection, and transformation. The light seems to pass from one body to… the other, as if a new presence could arise from this encounter.
In my research, the body is never simply an anatomical form. It is a place of connection and transition, a space where emotion, energy, and pictorial matter meet.
Sorgente tells precisely this original moment: the instant in which light is born from the encounter.
« Light, shadow and fire that burns, but that warms and illuminates the path, so we, hand in hand, run towards the stars. »
The works of the Italian artist Emmanuela Zavattaro, winner of the award, beautifully express the spectrum of life's emotions: pain, anger, happiness and loss fuel her passion. Emmanuela's works are investigations into the human soul, darkness and light, parallel paths that intertwine in each of us, the engine of life. Experimenting with materials and techniques, his works are brightly colored, powerful, full of movement and emotion that immediately connect with their audience. Emmanuela has exhibited her work extensively in Europe and the United States.
