About this artwork
In my painting, I wanted to explore the contrasting relationship between the work of man and the vastness of the sky. I used oil on canvas to emphasize the solidity of the geometric structures: a tall chimney and a building challenging the tumultuous sky above them. This work speaks of human persistence, of our relentless pursuit of progress, keeping ourselves firmly rooted to the earth, while we dare to touch the infinite. The energy it emanates… is of a silent but powerful challenge, which brings profound reflection to every space in which it is placed.
"Everyone has a very intimate map of the world, painting is the means to share it with everyone"
Enrico Clemente, self-taught, uses classic techniques such as drawing and oil on canvas, rooted in his love of drawing. He explores post-impressionist and metaphysical landscapes but also loves to paint still lifes, using vibrant colors and bold shapes. His works convey a deep sense of passion and pleasure, seeking to share his intimate map of the world through painting.
