About this artwork
My themes revolve around spirituality, transformation, and searching, or as Picasso said, "the encounter." I'm interested in exploring what lies beyond the visible, the hidden, the sacred. That's why I use references to classical art or film history, as in this case. I use these elements as symbols or structures, which I then transform and redefine in a contemporary language.
Duality is also very present: what is revealed and what is hidden, what… remains and what fades. I want the viewer to look closely and discover details that weren't immediately apparent, almost as an act of contemplation or introspection.
