About this artwork
In this painting, I wanted to express all the passion I feel for my homeland. I didn't use photographs; I simply closed my eyes and tried to paint the warmth of the sun and that sense of freedom the open countryside gives you.
I used oil paint with bold colors and lively brushstrokes because I wanted the landscape to be vibrant, not static. For me, painting is a way to let the viewer breathe, to bring home a bit of that rural tranquility that cleanses… the soul. I hope this canvas transmits to those who view it the same positive energy I felt while creating it from memory.
