About this artwork
Art with the katana.
A sword, created for cutting. For separation. For combat.
And yet, there is more to its blade than destruction – it carries movement, decision, silence, art.
I paint with a katana.
Not to destroy - but to show that a blade doesn't have to separate, but can connect.
What emerges is abstract. Unpredictable. Imperfect.
This extraordinary work of art was created with the powerful elegance of a samurai sword – a katana.… The flowing lines and dynamic overlays are achieved through precise, energetic movements, giving the work a unique blend of strength and lightness.
"Composition no.3" shows that a sword can not only destroy, but also produce powerful and creative works of art.
A modern, expressive work that impressively combines tradition and contemporary art.

"The perfect painting is created by learning to love imperfection."
Eren is an artist born in Mainz and currently living in Wiesbaden, who discovered his passion for abstract art in 2020. He participated in his first group exhibition in 2021. Further successful exhibitions followed, including: The Pier, Mainz – 2022/2023; Hyatt Regency, Mainz – 2023; Nio House, Frankfurt – 2024/2025; ARTe, Wiesbaden – 2025
Eren creates his unique works of art using the Japanese samurai sword, the katana.
"To show that a blade doesn't have to separate, but can connect. What emerges is abstract. Unpredictable. Imperfect. And therein lies the truth. The truth touches us not through flawlessness, but through authenticity. In imperfection lies depth. In depth lies connection. It is incomplete—and yet perfect, when you begin to feel it."
Eren's works are represented in international, private collections.
