About this artwork
Flow of Time explores movement, transformation, and the invisible forces that shape human experience. Set against an electrified red ground, the composition unfolds through sweeping passages of turquoise, gold, white, and luminous accents, generating a field of continuous motion.
The artwork approaches time as a living condition rather than a fixed measure—expanding, dissolving, colliding, and renewing. A careful balance between expressive gesture… and structural control creates both intensity and equilibrium, allowing the painting to hold tension without fragmentation.
Spatially immersive and visually dynamic, the composition reveals itself gradually, shifting with distance, light, and duration of viewing. It invites sustained engagement rather than immediate resolution.
Finished with a refined medium-shine varnish, the surface preserves depth, luminosity, and material clarity. "Flow of Time" is a monumental work defined by presence, rhythm, and enduring visual force.

Erik Kling is a self-taught contemporary abstract painter and visual artist working primarily with acrylic enamel, oil, mixed media, and unconventional surfaces like Egyptian papyrus, shaped by cross-continental experiences. His technique is defined by immersive, layered processes, vibrant color fields, and bold, physical gestures, balancing chance, structure, and scale to create dynamic compositions where energy and movement reign. Through his evolving, intuitive style and transformative themes, he conveys a potent emotional resonance—inviting viewers into contemplative spaces charged with energy, presence, and an invitation to experience light, balance, and transformation firsthand.
