About this artwork
The study "Walpurgis" is part of a series of paintings I painted in Sweden in 2025. In it, I explore the deeply felt impressions that the Swedish landscape evoked in me during the transition from winter to flowering season. The Swedish spring, that fickle, often contradictory spring, reveals itself here not in luminous lightness, but as a time of transitions, of quiet drama. A field of tension emerges in which light and darkness exist side by side…
as equals.
