About this artwork
In this work, I vividly fused expressionism and fauvism to capture the free and wild spirit of nature, embodied here by a hedgehog. Using acrylic and oil, I played with textures and colors to evoke a sense of movement and raw energy of this small animal that comes every evening to eat my cat's kibble.
This painting is a celebration of wildlife, a reminder of the spontaneous beauty that surrounds us, a fantasy in my work as a painter.
