When I finished this painting and stepped back, I just thought, holy cow. I did not plan anything before I started. I simply followed the colors and let my feelings guide my hands.
The bold strokes and thick paint show my energy in the moment. The pinks, greens, blues, and reds feel like emotions moving across the canvas. Some parts are messy and some parts are calm, and that balance feels true to me.
I like that the shapes are not exact. They… let people see whatever they feel or imagine. For me, this painting is about letting go and allowing color to speak when words cannot.
In the end, this piece reminds me that art can be surprising and honest at the same time. Sometimes all I can say is holy cow, I made that.
