About this artwork
In my work I mix acrylic, (de-)collage with rust and oil pastel to create a sense of depth and texture. This abstract, minimalist and symbolic painting consists of three panels that together create a subtle, almost meditative atmosphere. The inspiration for this work was the quote: "If you are open to everything, nothing remains closed to you" by Klaus Ender.
(De)Collage with rust in white frames. It encourages reflection on openness and the complexity… of human experiences. The gentle color transitions and the sparingly used symbols, such as the word "OPEN" on the right panel, invite the viewer to think about personal and spatial boundaries.
Evelyn Fasch, a trained self-taught artist, uses acrylic paints, inks, chalks, coffee and real rust. She creates images in multiple steps and layers, often using extended photo sections as a base and creating different surfaces through marble dust, ash and sand. Triggered by her passion for old facades, lost places and observations of nature, and often inspired by thoughts of current events, her works make viewers think and evoke emotions.
