About this artwork
Inspired by the Praterallee in Vienna
This work adopts the iconic perspective of Vienna's Praterallee: a clear line of sight, framed by rhythmically arranged rows of trees that lead the eye into the depths.
Against the dark background, the delicate, luminous trees stand out with exceptional clarity. Subtle golden accents evoke reflections of light and lend the composition a poetic, almost meditative atmosphere.
A composition of structure, light… and silence – reduced to the essentials and yet of great depth.
An expressive work for collectors who appreciate clarity, balance and a timeless visual language.
Evi Schartner, born in Salzburg, is a contemporary artist who has been exploring the expressive potential of watercolor painting in an experimental, process-oriented approach since 2013. Her works are characterized by a precise interplay of line, form, and color, moving between clear structure and intuitive gesture.
Through deliberate reduction, she develops a distinctive, graphically driven visual language that allows space for individual perception and emotional resonance. Her works are created primarily on handmade paper, whose unique surface and materiality are an integral part of the artistic process.
Internationally exhibited – including in London, Shanghai, South Korea, Miami, Los Angeles and New York – and awarded several grants, her work combines painterly sensitivity with conceptual clarity and a quiet, poetic presence.
