About this artwork
New Era oil and acrylic on canvas. 80x100 cm
This work marks the beginning of a new creative path, characterized by a strong contamination with street art and by an evolution of the figurative and coloristic technique towards a greater expressive intensity. The style adopted, which I would define as pop neo-figurativism, is distinguished by the fusion between elements of contemporary urban culture and a pictorial rendering of great visual impact.…
"New Era" explores two themes of extraordinary relevance for our time: on the one hand, the transformative role of science and technology in shaping the future of humanity; on the other, the battle for the affirmation of women's freedom, understood as one of the crucial challenges of our time. The work is therefore configured as a visual manifesto of a "new era" that questions the viewer on issues of profound relevance.
Fabrizio Ceccarelli, an artist of the Italian pop neo-figurativism, expresses himself through a mix of techniques that include acrylic, oil, spray and airbrush. His style is a successful fusion between the aesthetics of pop art
and the dynamism and irony of street art, creating bright, fluorescent, and vibrant contemporary works, where each figure is drawn and painted by hand without the use of printing or digital techniques. He mixes elements of cinema, fashion, and comics to explore themes such as power, love, ecology, and violence. He gives his works a penetrating irony, revealing hidden meanings behind the mirror of a pleasant aesthetic.
