About this artwork
Memories from my childhood, spending the day at the lake. Everyone would bring baskets and coolers full to the brim of food and drink, we would arrive in the morning and stay until dusk. The young ones would be in the water most of the day, only emerging for snacks. They would eat their food with pruney fingers and beach towels draped around their shoulders, returning to the water as soon as they were allowed. The teens and 20's would sunbathe,… talk and laugh while listening to the top 40 on the “transistor radio” (jeesh, am I old .... right :) Grandpas and Grandmas would sit on lawn chairs in the shade to read or nap, occasionally getting up, to dip their toes in the crystal-clear water.......
Lot's of texture and cool colors. At the Lake is a 20X24" oil on canvas that will arrive with the sides painted white and ready to hang as is. As with all of my paintings, a final coat of varnish is applied after the piece has dried to enhance and protect the piece.
« The process of putting to canvas, my perception of an actual scene or idea so that others can see what I see and hopefully feel what I feel, is the reason I create art; it brings me joy. »
