Whether it's a long walk in the woods, a short walk around the block or just sitting outside, on the deck with a glass of wine; I still feel the same connection with nature that I have since I was a child. Nothing is more therapeutic than the smell of the ground after the rain, the sound of the leaves rustling in the trees or the feeling of the wind on… your skin. I painted Revival with this in mind. Nature refreshes, revives us......it's home. The Sun rises and sets everyday without fail, like it has for thousands of years. Long after we're gone it will continue on, but for a short time while we are here, we are a part of this spectacle.
After painting layer upon layers of paint, numerous coats of glazing were then applied to the sky in this piece which gives it an abundance of texture and depth. Revival will arrive with the sides painted white and ready to hang as is.
