About this artwork
Traces_11, Always in search of following this line, filling this space digging into the shape, color and texture, Leaving traces like our memory.
Writing without thinking about your subject, denying syntax and narratives. Let yourself go into this weightlessness of looking at only the space to fill and not what I am writing…
My texts are illegible to the public and that is intentional.
I sometimes integrate a letter, a word meaning at that moment… of creation, seeking to dialogue with the other who is simply the me? I am alone facing this surface, drawing endless lines like pages
« I am not a calligrapher, I am an artist who uses letters and words as a brushstroke. »
Farid Izemmour is an experienced artist based in Switzerland whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as ITSLIQUID and DZairWorld. Izemmour describes his artistic practice as being based on the abstract expressionist principles inspired by famed artist, Jackson Pollock. Breaking the codes of calligraphy, his distinctive pieces fuse abstraction with the written word.
