About this artwork
Traces_85:
Always in search of following this line, to fill this space digging in the form the color and the texture, To leave traces like our memory.
Write without thinking about it, denying syntax and narrations. Let yourself go in this weightlessness of watching the space to fill and not what I am writing ...
My texts are illegible for the public and it is intended.
I sometimes integrate a letter, a word meaning at that moment of creation,… seeking to dialogue with the other who is simply the me? I am alone in front of this surface, tracing endless lines like pages
« I am not a calligrapher, I am an artist who uses letters and words as a brushstroke. »
Farid Izemmour is an experienced artist based in Switzerland whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as ITSLIQUID and DZairWorld. Izemmour describes his artistic practice as being based on the abstract expressionist principles inspired by famed artist, Jackson Pollock. Breaking the codes of calligraphy, his distinctive pieces fuse abstraction with the written word.
