This piece is a bold reinterpretation of Vermeer’s classic. Not a perfect portrait, but an expressive, layered take full of color and character. Created with palette knives, rollers, and spray paint — sometimes wild, sometimes precise. Warm, vibrant tones and touches of gold leaf add depth and energy. It’s a mix of old and new, baroque meets street, classical meets contemporary with a dash of attitude.

Femke Kock is an artist from the Netherlands. Just a few years ago, she left her steady job to fully dedicate herself to her career as an artist. In this short period, she has built a remarkable portfolio and won several awards. Her rendition of the Girl with a Pearl Earring was displayed in the Mauritshuis, and her works can be found in numerous private collections worldwide, from Tokyo to Paris and everywhere in between. She has also appeared on national television multiple times with her work. Femke Kock's pieces are regularly showcased at major art fairs and galleries, and she has had several notable solo exhibitions, such as at the observation deck of the Euromast in Rotterdam.
