About this artwork
Three in the Moment” captures a fleeting interaction between three figures suspended in a shared instant. Their presence is less about identity and more about connection — a quiet tension between proximity and distance.
The composition invites the viewer to observe what is not immediately visible: the emotional space between bodies, the silence between gestures, the subtle rhythm of being together yet apart.
Rather than narrating a fixed story,… the work opens a moment — one that shifts depending on who is looking.
Filomena Carmo Pinto is a Portuguese artist whose work explores movement, transformation, and human connection. She began painting at the age of twenty and later worked as a costume designer, an experience that profoundly shaped her sensitivity to the body, gesture, rhythm, and space.
Dance is at the heart of her artistic practice because it has always been a source of joy, freedom, and self-expression. Rather than depicting dancers, she seeks to capture the energy and emotions that emerge through movement, creating figures suspended between memory and presence.
Her work is inspired by the concept of becoming—the idea that life is a continuous process of change and transformation. Through expressive brushwork and dynamic compositions, she invites viewers to reflect on the beauty of impermanence and the emotional depth of human experience.
