About this artwork
I painted it with an ardor that reflects the majesty and eternal splendor of the Colosseum. Using pastels, I tried to capture not only the imposing structure, but also the throb of centuries-old stories contained in its stones. This work evokes respect and admiration for the past, adding a sense of historic beauty and deep contemplation to any setting.
It is precisely wonder that inspires the creativity of Filomena Reale, an experienced artist based in Italy. His paintings, featured nationally and internationally, evoke intense emotions, a spirit of faith, strength and sacrifice, love and hope. His works incorporate natural themes such as the olive tree and portray human faces, with the aim of capturing the soul and its evolution, celebrating life and its relationship with beauty.
Filomena expresses her art through oil or acrylic, on canvas or metal. He uses different techniques, skillfully combining spatula and brush which, together with continuous research on colour, become vital tools in his creative process. Particularly distinctive is his use of the macro format, a courageous attempt to sublimate even the smallest particle.
