About this artwork
This work, created with pastel techniques, expresses the deep emotional connection and protection between a mother and her child. Through a style that combines expressionism, realism and symbolism, I wanted to capture the intensity of their gazes and the delicacy of their touch, evoking feelings of unconditional love and defense. She is just over 20 years old, in this 'still image' you can see her love for the child she hugs and her eyes lost in…
space to represent the fatigue of everyday life... but even more you can see the freedom of a woman who despite her young age chose to continue the pregnancy by saying 'YES to life', with the awareness of the enormous limits for the premature parental responsibility of a young woman with the desire to study and live a carefree life. It is a tribute to the silent and unstoppable strength of maternal love, destined to fill every corner of the home with a feeling of security and affection.
