Look, Platero, how many roses are falling everywhere: blue roses, white roses, colorless ones… It's as if the sky is dissolving into roses. Look how my forehead, my shoulders, my hands are covered in roses… What will I do with so many roses?
—Do you perhaps know where this soft flora comes from, which I don't know where it comes from, which softens the landscape every day and leaves it sweetly pink, white and sky blue —more pinks, more pinks—,… like a painting by Fra Angelico, the one who painted glory on his knees?
From the seven galleries of Paradise, one would think they were showering roses upon the earth. Like a warm, vaguely colorful snowfall, the roses remain on the tower, on the roof, on the trees. Look: all that is strong becomes delicate with its adornment. More roses, more roses, more roses…
