About this artwork
Il mio sogno (meaning My Dream in Italian) is a bronze sculpture of a girl playing with her little pet monster wearing the very same hat as she was the little monster.
It is part of a serie called Los Niños y Sus Amigos Imaginarios (The children and their imaginary friends).
The series is special tribute to Children’s nature, to their capacity to see through this reality, to maintain the innocence, to have faith in the impossible, to always have… hope, to be spontaneous, to be authentic.
The patina is simple and a little experimental: black and white with a touch of gold
Please remember that this piece is part of a series of 8, and the patina (colors) may vary a little from piece to piece (I always try to make them the most similar, but part of the patina’s beauty is exactly their uniqueness).

« The stories of each character, isolated in an intimate and personal dimension, are reflections on human values, perceptions and emotions. »
Francesca Dalla Benetta is an Italian sculptor based in Mexico. After 10 years working as a makeup artist in the film industry, Dalla Benetta is now a dedicated full-time artist. Her work is characterized by anatomies and mixed forms. Faces and human bodies are combined with different textures, skins and elements, giving rise to hybrid and fantastic beings. Through unusual, strange and surreal bodies, her pieces focus on the problems of transformation, identity, the sense of belonging, self-perception and dreams.
