About this artwork
I have woven the serenity of the blue and the mystery of the semi-abstract to create something that evokes a feeling of calm and deep reflection. The white brush strokes that represent the plum blossoms speak of hope and new life, bringing a breath of freshness and tranquility into your home. Every time you lay your eyes on this painting, you will feel invaded by a renewed peace.
Francesco Calistri, trained between Florence and Milan, is an Italian painter based in Rome.
His practice explores the relationship between perception, memory, and image transformation through a painting suspended between figuration and dissolution. Working primarily in oil on canvas, Calistri constructs images that emerge and disperse within the painted surface, balancing presence and disappearance.
Figures, faces, and plant elements are treated as unstable and transitory presences, in a research that favors vision, atmosphere, and perceptual transformation over descriptive representation.
Alongside his artistic training, he has deepened his studies in acting, visual culture and neuroscience, influencing his interest in memory, attention and the limits of vision.
He has exhibited in Italy and abroad; his works are part of private collections in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
