About this artwork
In this work, I tried to reflect an inner turmoil, a dualism between visible and hidden. In particular, I tried to express the mutability of memories that emerge as fragments in memory and transform one's perceptions. A face emerges as if carried by the tide of a dream. This canvas is a continuous dialogue between the soul of the observer and the changing identities that navigate within us.
The work was exhibited at the Chianciano 2024 art biennial… and won the special prize for figurative art.
Instagram: @francescocalistri.h Calistri, originally from Florence, primarily uses oil painting, but also expresses himself through photography and sculpture. His style is based on careful observation of the subject, detailed drawing, and the study of "inner music," but he tends to eschew realism in favor of visuality. His works evoke profound emotions of love, poetry, seduction, abandon, joy, and life; a perfect manifestation of his theory that art is a means to spiritual knowledge.
