About this artwork
Belonging to the "Plant" series, this is number 037, title: "Fruit".
This representation of the female body, so exuberant, that rejoices among these plants and fungi of unknown origin, is the history of humanity itself... in short, it is the allegory that everything in life responds to a sexual process that involves divine reproduction. Mushrooms for the most part, for the artist, are an expression of masculinity, just as these women's bodies represent… sexual desire, femininity in its most sexual expression...
The work is framed with a metal frame hand painted by the artist, some colors used are fluorescent and glow under black light.

« The art must be how to see a high-performance athlete play or a scientist talk about quantum physics and we know that not everyone can do it. »
Frank Arias is an artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Cuba. He cites his sources of inspiration as originating from the great mystery of life outside of our planet. Arias is intrigued about the genesis of life and the possibility of civilizations that are more advanced than us. His figurative compositions teem with diverse characters and scenes that are not found in reality, portrayed with a hint of irony and satire.
