ART REVEAL is a series of paintings that playfully engage with the trend of ‘art reveal’ videos on social media. In these videos, artists dramatically unveil their work by lifting and turning it over. This series takes that concept and twists it by placing not only the artwork but also the person revealing it at the… center of attention.
At the edges of the canvas, hands appear – the hands of the person holding the painting. What they reveal is not just a piece of art but also a half-naked, tattooed body.
With a playful nod to digital self-representation and the tension between visibility and anonymity, ART REVEAL questions how we present both art and ourselves to the world – and what happens when the two merge.
