In this work from the Culinary Compressions series, the artist explores living matter through an experimental photographic protocol.
A fruit is thinly sliced, then compressed under glass and lit exclusively from below, revealing its internal structure with almost scientific precision.
The surface becomes an abstract territory where cells, seeds and membranes form an organic landscape, oscillating between microscopy and imaginary cartography.
… Dark, oval areas give rhythm to the image like biological writing, while light passes through the translucent flesh and reveals its fragility.
Between contemporary still life and laboratory specimen, this photograph questions our relationship to life, transformation and the ephemeral.
A fragment of everyday life is transformed here into a contemplative object, suspended between art and science.
