About this artwork
In the silence of matter, what remains is not emptiness, but tension.
The ochre, compressed and cracked, holds the breath of something that refuses to be said—a core that resists erosion, language, and time.
The surface is a wounded skin, a field of apparent quiet where change has already occurred and continues to unfold, invisibly.
The Silent Core is the still point within the vibration, the essence that survives the form.
He doesn't speak,… yet he weighs.
He doesn't tell, yet he remains.
In its silence pulsates the possibility of every voice — like a heart that does not beat, but endures.
« Recognize and respect that your own creative 'spark' will guide you. »
Gabriela Aleksandra Szuba, known professionally as GAS, is a Polish artist living and working in Italy. After studying economics, she embarked on an independent artistic journey, guided by inner exploration and a desire to give form to the invisible. Her painting stems from silence and develops as a meditative act: with acrylics, crackling paste, pigments, and gold leaf, she constructs living surfaces, where every crack is a trace of time and every layer an emotional transition. Material becomes memory, the light in golden reflections a spiritual presence. Her works do not describe but evoke: fragility and resistance, a sacredness emerging from the crack. The deep and dramatic colors lead to a space suspended between tension and stillness, flesh and spirit. Each title is a threshold, an invitation to a symbolic journey, meditation and secular prayer. She has exhibited in Italy, Argentina, and the United Kingdom in contemporary research contexts, where each show becomes an extension of her creative process and a sharing of states of being.
