About this artwork
This series, and also this painting was born from a very intimate process, as I glued and folded the canvas, I felt like I was uncovering parts of myself that usually stay hidden. The layers of black acrylic, softened by pastel and touched with blue ink, became a reflection of my inner emotions surfacing through texture and form.
The spirit of "wabi-sabi" runs through this work — the paradox of imperfection within perfection and perfection within… imperfection. In creating this painting, I found myself reflecting on my own humanity: I am imperfect, and that is exactly what makes me unique. That uniqueness, with all its flaws and traces, "is" the perfection.
