About this artwork
This surreal artwork reflects one of my childhood dreams: a castle by the sea, protected by my guardian angel, our cat, who hunts mice around the castle. A light-up balloon carries wishes into the universe.
It is meant to remind the viewer of how much imagination, hope, and joy we used to have when we dreamed as children. And we should ask ourselves how much of our dreams has remained and whether we even allow ourselves to dream anymore. A work… of art that invites you to dream when you look at it.
For the printing method, I chose a high-resolution, highly detailed Ultra HD photo print mounted behind 2 mm glossy acrylic glass in gallery quality. The backing is made of sturdy aluminum composite panel (Aludibond). Slimline frames are available in silver, gold, and white. Sturdy aluminum rails are attached to the back for easy and flexible hanging.
Artwork available with price adjustment, also without frame, in other dimensions and print variations.
Gabriele Breu uses photography and digital image editing, drawing on a classical training in watercolor, oil painting, and drawing. Her technique combines clear structures with soft transitions, blends, and color shifts, creating distinctive works that exist somewhere between photography, digital painting, and collage. Her art opens up emotional spaces and invites reflection on perception, reality, and the magic of the moment, evoking feelings of well-being, hope, and inspiration in the viewer.
