About this artwork
The use of collage makes it possible to confront in this piece the paper with the linen of the support. A single white paper covers a part of the canvas and marks a rectangular and lighter geometric space that at the same time blends in with the background due to the black trace of the India ink that covers it in part. In addition, the different way in which Chinese ink adheres to paper or linen generates dark nuances that go from black to sepia.…
Geometry composes but is not an end in itself, it dialogues with the stain or the trace; somehow generates and orders language.

« Creating is leaving a visible "trail" where concerns and desires converge. The painting is the frame that allows me to give it visibility. »
Established Swiss artist Gabriele Fettolini's striking artworks do not ask questions or tell stories, instead they are rhythmic and expressive representations of the balance of life. The dualism between the body and mind, reality and aspirations, the weight of matter and the transcendence of spirit.
Producing his abstract pieces in a spontaneous environment gives Gabriele the freedom to make each piece truly unique, building and eroding layers his artworks are richly textured and beautifully colored. Each canvas is full of juxtapositions, emptiness and luminosity, beauty and tragedy, ephemeral and transitory the viewer is free to make up their own mind.
Gabriele has exhibited his artwork extensively throughout Europe, his pieces are held in numerous permanent collections.
