About this artwork
Without darkness there is no light; shadow and light, two poles that complement each other and merge with each other. This diptych aims to capture this moment in which the light reveals the space at the same time that the shadow veils it and tends to hide it. Two pieces that even having a life of their own confront each other and try to give visibility to the unrepresentable.
This work also wants to investigate the possibility of representation… and abstraction of painting in its most minimalist aspect.
This diptych wants to be a tribute to my mother who had the same name as in the title (Luce / Luz).
(Depending on the space that surrounds them, these two pieces can be hung very close to each other or with a certain distance from each other).

« Creating is leaving a visible "trail" where concerns and desires converge. The painting is the frame that allows me to give it visibility. »
Established Swiss artist Gabriele Fettolini's striking artworks do not ask questions or tell stories, instead they are rhythmic and expressive representations of the balance of life. The dualism between the body and mind, reality and aspirations, the weight of matter and the transcendence of spirit.
Producing his abstract pieces in a spontaneous environment gives Gabriele the freedom to make each piece truly unique, building and eroding layers his artworks are richly textured and beautifully colored. Each canvas is full of juxtapositions, emptiness and luminosity, beauty and tragedy, ephemeral and transitory the viewer is free to make up their own mind.
Gabriele has exhibited his artwork extensively throughout Europe, his pieces are held in numerous permanent collections.
