About this artwork
“Summer Day” is a geometric abstraction.
The composition is reminiscent of ripe wheat fields, lush green, a bright blue sky and sailboats, while the earthy brown tones refer to the shadowy earth.
The work consists of clearly defined areas of color separated by fine, colorful lines. The individual areas are designed in different tonalities, creating a vibrant, nuanced effect.
The color palette, with its bold contrasts, is reminiscent of sporty… designs and is inspired by the dynamic color combinations often found on surfboards. Thus, the painting conveys the energy and lightness of a summer day.
« My art consists of thought concepts. These are freed from the object until I express them, precisely organized and composed using lines, surfaces, and colors, specifically on canvas. »
Gabriele Fuchs is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Austria, Brazil, and Portugal. Inspired by the contemplation of nature and spirituality, her works are the result of deep reflection on a specific subject. Fuchs uses mathematical and calculated precision in her artistic process, based on Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Ratio, as well as Johannes Itten's color theory.
