About this artwork
A lush cascade of pink peonies descends grandly, contrasting with the deep black background. This floral stream is complemented by tender greenery and thin crimson strokes that emphasize the depth of the composition. Each petal seems to catch an invisible light, creating a sense of purity and natural harmony. The painting evokes a feeling of serenity, capturing a moment of the blooming garden's infinite beauty.
Please note that colors may vary… slightly depending on your monitor settings.
The painting is created with acrylic paints and will be carefully packed in a sturdy tube for shipping to the collector. Please note: the canvas is shipped in a roll and will need to be stretched onto a wooden frame at your local framing shop.
I, Galyna Antonenko, am an architect by training. I studied painting for six years in the private studio of the renowned Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. I use primarily bright acrylic paints in my works. My art is an attempt to stop time. When I paint women's portraits, it's as if I whisper to them: "Stop, moment—you are so beautiful!" I am inspired by those brief, almost imperceptible moments when a person becomes truly visible—without posing, without protection, simply themselves. The women in my paintings are not models, but reflections of inner strength, vulnerability, and beauty in simplicity. I seek in every face that facet of light where life is hidden. Children's portraits occupy a special place in my work. Adults strive to appear, while children strive simply to feel. And I strive to capture this pure feeling: delight, surprise, sadness, joy—everything that makes us alive. My paintings are more than just images. It is a dialogue with the moment.
