About this artwork
Inspired by the war in Ukraine, this work represents the farewell and goodbye. A train full of hope, but also full of pain.
Families broken by a war that forces them to separate. Men who have to see what they love most leave on a train... their children, their wives, their mothers.
Women, children and mothers who leave what they love most in the face of an uncertain and terrifying destiny.
A meaningless breakup and immense pain.
For this work… I have chosen the blues and yellow that represent the colors of Ukraine.
A wide range of blues like Oxford, Prussian, cobalt, steel, indigo and grays help me beautifully represent the harshness of war. An intense yellow, hope. A light that illuminates these men and that influences them with strength.
