About this artwork
The upper, straight edge of the picture symbolizes a reddish evening sky, while the lower part of the picture is in light shades of gray.
Two rows of six figures each, in different postures and expressions, celebrate a joyful event in an exuberant manner.
Two figures at the bottom right are dressed in green, the others in different shades of orange.
The scene inspired me during a longer stay in the southwest of the USA.
Everywhere you come across… these many petroglyphs of the indigenous people as visible evidence of this fascinating culture.
My father's interest in South American cultures was an early incentive for me to read in his library. During my training I became interested in the Impressionists and Dutch painters. A subsequent graphic design course also expanded my skills in life drawing. A longer move to Santa Fe in New Mexico was a welcome change to soak up new inspiration. Three children's books and several book illustrations were created from this. After returning to Lake Waginger, I became interested in Japanese Zen Buddhism both through painting and intensive meditation. The founding of the joint KIWA Institute was followed by further training, which I completed in Malaysia with 2 master's degrees in Chinese astrology and classical Feng Shui. Since then I have been active in lectures, seminars and consultations as well as continuing to work as a painter in exhibitions.
