About this artwork
Summer Harbingers is an explosive, expressive, joyful, energetic painting of poppies and swallows in the corner of a summer meadow. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting shows a bed of red poppies in the foreground in the shade of the tree behind them. The inspiration for it was simply the happiness that I feel in countryside and corners of gardens in England when the sun is out and nature is showing off. It is impossible to capture all the life forms and their activities in the corner of a meadow as there is just too much of it so I have tried, instead, to capture the way it makes me feel.
