About this artwork
An inner energy, vibrant and inextinguishable, drives me to create, to elaborate. I have often felt this creative impulse. Over time, I have understood that it is not simply the fruit of an artistic need, it is also rooted in the fundamental principle of risk. Artistic creation cannot be conceived without a certain dose of courage, the kind that allows one to face the unknown, to venture forth.
So when the inner energy manifests, I know the road… is fraught with challenges, but above all, it is fraught with opportunities. Artistic creation, a testament to our humanity, is not just an act of making; it is a living dialogue, an act of courage. Gilles Arnould, a painter, photographer, and sculptor who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the University of Paris 8, fuses painting and sculpture to explore verticality. He sows fragments of color in painting, creating a visual germination linked to biodiversity, and shapes anonymous silhouettes in sculpture, playing on the scale and consistency of forms.
