About this artwork
It was a hot summer day in 1974 when the old hippie van, a colorful 1970 Volkswagen kombi, was parked along the dirt road, surrounded by an atmosphere of freedom and psychedelia.
With the intention of immersing myself in the colors and sounds of the 70s, I sat in the kombi, turned on the car radio which broadcast the psychedelic notes of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. The van began to vibrate, as if it were ready to lift off the ground.
Closing… my eyes, I abandoned myself to the sound of the engine and the smell of incense that permeated the air. The kombi magically transformed into a time machine, beginning to move slowly through a floral tunnel of distorted light.
