About this artwork
From the safari cycle. The work represents an elephant that comes towards the observer. The shape, like a fossil imprint, is obtained by folding the canvas, subsequently painted with acrylic. The folds of the canvas both horizontally and vertically give shape to the green painted pachyderm.
The idea is to represent in an original way these mammoth animals which are powerful, but at the same time fragile, in our modern world as their ideal habitat… is shrinking more and more.
« Without invention there is no art, to be inventive one requires a unique point of view. »
