About this artwork
In creating this artwork, I embraced the dynamism and interplay of textures, using acrylic, oil, and embroidery. The jumbled threads on rough burlap and smooth canvas represent life’s complexity and chaos, yet a sense of order and beauty that can emerge from it. This piece is a visual analogy of perseverance and vibrancy. It will ignite a space with its vivid colors and intricate detail, sparking conversation and invoking a spirit of resilience.… The work shows the relationship between the texture of the canvas and the threads. Some threads are taken away from the canvas and used to change the texture. The composition responds to well-defined rules and the result is not that of a cold geometry but instead shows relationships between all the elements. By changing one of the elements the whole composition changes
« Art is a way to express oneself in joy and freedom, as well as the love for oneself and for others. »
Giustino Caposciutti is an award-winning painter, textile artist, and printmaker based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and France. He describes his diverse compositions as representing messages of hope. Caposciutti's artistic practice is marked by discovery through the materials he employs. For him, after having "given birth" to a piece, it assumes the property of change, just as in the natural environment.
