About this artwork

Nel fare quest'opera del 1998 ho utilizzato scarti di una fabbrica di tessuti con la quale ho collaborato per molti anni. Rappresenta la potenzialità che risiede in ciò che viene messo da parte, scartato e ignorato nelle cose così come nelle persone. Questo di recuperare ciò che viene trascurato dalla società è la costante del mio lavoro di artista(educatore fino dal 1967... All'inizio raccoglievo gli stracci usati dai pittori per pulire i pennelli… e ne facevo dei quadri, poi nell'incisioe stampavo sia il davanti che il dietro della lastra di zinco e poi i quadri dipinti sul rovescio che proiettano un riflesso cangiante sul muro, vedi la serie "Fra tela e muro" ed il mio lavoro di promozione degli artisti disabili psichici...

Giustino Caposciutti is an award-winning painter, textile artist, and printmaker based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and France. He describes his diverse compositions as representing messages of hope. Caposciutti's artistic practice is marked by discovery through the materials he employs. For him, after having "given birth" to a piece, it assumes the property of change, just as in the natural environment.
