About this artwork

In this work, the artist continues to explore the theme of the “Strange Gardens” — inner landscapes where nature becomes a mirror of emotions, dreams, and transformation. Rose Garden is not about real roses, nor about a garden in the botanical sense. It is a garden preserved in memory, woven from impressions, light, and sensation.

Inspired by Monet’s aesthetic, the painting blends blurred contours with soft pastels, turning the image into a memory… — a fleeting moment that resists being held. Colors melt into one another; forms appear from the mist, only to vanish again. It is visual poetry about the fragility of beauty — a reminder that everything truly beautiful is always just out of reach.

« My Childhood was filled with art. This is where my inspiration comes from »

Glib Franko is an experienced Ukrainian artist whose works have been exhibited throughout the UK, Ukraine and Poland. Inspired early on by a father who was a watercolour painter and a mother who worked in textiles, he finds his own aesthetic and creative pleasure in testing out different colours, textures and shapes through painting. His work is fragmentary and experimental, and exudes mystery, harmony and symbolism, and his aesthetic stands out for its blossoming colours and lines.
