About this artwork
The tide and evening light were changing constantly but all at once they agreed to be captured under a hidden sunset. Here is a technique I have had to let go of for the sake of time. Under painting is the 'atmosphere' produced on a mildly raised 'tooth' which takes the next paint application which is 'rubbed back.' to reveal the under painting. This may require two, sometimes three paint drying times, if I can afford the time, but it produces beautiful…
