About this artwork
For 20 years, Gregg Chadwick has painted artworks inspired by the aspirational nature of Buddhism. His painting "Monk Station" continues this theme and brings a saffron robed pilgrim into a 21st century urban moment. Inspired by a subway station in Montreal, this painting looks at the place of the spirit in our fast paced lives.
"Gregg Chadwick paints scenes from the life of Asia that reminds us of the monastic life of pilgrimage which has been… all but lost in the West."
-Ratnagarbha and Thomas Jones
from "Urthona: Journal of Buddhism and the Arts" Issue 20
