About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the ephemeral and vital essence of coral reefs. Using oil for its rich textures and deep colors, I evoke the fragile and complex beauty of these underwater ecosystems. Each brushstroke tells a story of diversity and resilience, inviting viewers to reflect on the enigmatic beauty and urgency of marine conservation. It is a hymn to aquatic life, vibrant with color and emotion, intended to inspire and awaken ecological… consciousness.
Inspired by the music and clay of her childhood, Hélène Marchand works in several mediums such as oil painting, watercolor and engraving. Her art, mostly figurative, often depicts landscapes and nude portraits that evoke the authenticity and intimacy of the human being. Through her works, she expresses emotions and sensations that were once difficult to verbalize, constantly exploring the interior and the world around her.
