This sketch is part of a colourful and summery series inspired by the lush and magical surroundings of the Pyrenees.
I explored the fusion of Abstract Expressionism with Fauvism to highlight the attraction caused by the vivid colours of the animal world, which act as lures. The bold brushstrokes and unbridled palette of greens and reds provoke a sense of urgency and raw passion.

Hélène Rooryck is a Spanish artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in the Netherlands and France. She is inspired by everything that lies behind the laws of nature, including the telluric force of textures, the dialogue of opposites, and the beauty of the incomplete and the imperfect, as reflected in Zen philosophy. Rooryck is also fascinated by the "immensity contained in the minimum" and the silence that emerges from chaos.
