About this artwork
Since 2024, I have been experimenting with acrylic ink for its transparency and the luminosity of its colors. After numerous series on paper, in 2025 I chose to use the same medium on canvases stretched over frames. The ink is worked with water, which ensures the dispersion of the pigments and gives the work that fluid, ethereal, poetic, and light quality that so appeals to me.
"Fleur d'encre 1" is an abstract evocation of nature and the plant world.… Just like its brother ("Fleur d'encre 1"), I wanted it to be a visual poem, a flight of supple colors.
The painting is framed with a lightly stained, nailed wooden molding that is easily removable if desired. A hanging system is installed on the back.
Hélène Zenatti, a self-taught painter trained in cinema and cultural mediation, primarily uses acrylic on canvas or paper, sometimes enhanced with materials such as sand or glued tissue paper. Her technique plays on textures, the density of the paint, or its transparency in varied palettes. She explores, through abstraction, the poetry of landscapes, whether real or interior. Some works, through their fragmented arrangement in several images, evoke cinema or graphic novels. She seeks to convey, through each work, a feeling of freedom and to invite the audience on an intimate journey, evocative of memories, dreams, and suspended moments.
